Spend Summer at the beach!

Intending members who are interested in passing their Lifeguard Award, are preferred to have good swimming skills, often having a competition swimming background, be reasonably fit, not afraid of exercise, be community minded and have a love of the beach and it's environment.

Intending members

come from all age groups, fitness levels, and skills base. Apart from the core patrolling Lifeguard who sits the New Zealand Lifeguard award qualification. There are also places for non swimming members acting in a patrol support role, from assisting with first aid, and spotting duties, through to fixing surf boards maintaining gear, patrol administration and assisting the Junior surf programme.

We are volunteer based, and patrol weekends, except for the professional guards who patrol during the 6 weeks over the Christmas holiday period. Our job is to determine the safe state of the beach environs/surf conditions, and to ensure the safety of swimmers as they enjoy the beach environment.

Club Fees 2005-2006
Senior-$25, $35 after patrol start.
Junior $15, $20 after patrol start.
Family $50
Junior Surf
$30 for 1
$50 for a family.
